Senior Care At Home Virtual Event Recording

Hello!

Good morning, and welcome to February! 🌞

We hope this message finds you well? We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined our recent virtual event, "Senior Care at Home: Strategies for Providing Comprehensive Care to Elderly Parents at Home." Your active participation made the event a success.

In case you missed any part of the event or would like to revisit the valuable information shared, we've made the recordings available for your convenience:

- Part II: Click here

Feel free to access these recordings at your leisure.

Here are some of the practical lessons I took away:

  • A shower is a better, safer option than a bath for elderly parents

  • There are items that are requires in the shower to ensure the safety of elderly ones such as anti-slip mats, seats, anti-slip slippers, hand-bars, proper lightening etc

  • Lightening around the house and in the bathroom and corridors are critical

  • Keep an eye on mobility and ensure mobility is optimised for good bone health even if the parent is bed-ridden

  • The Caregiver must have basic medical knowledge in order to pick on and diagnose issues EARLY

  • The qualifications of a Caregiver is important - what training does the Caregiver have?

  • The Caregiver-to-Patient ratio is important .. and how it ensures optimised personalised attention and care

  • The Caregiver/Nurse requires credentialing - very important!

  • There must be detailed emergency reporting and pathway to follow when the need arises

Should you be in need of a Professional Care Support Assistant for your elderly loved ones at home, or if you have additional questions, our Nursing Home Partner can be reached at +234 809 790 8580.

We deeply appreciate your commitment to staying informed and engaged in your healthcare journey. We eagerly anticipate sharing more insightful events with you in the future!
